Space shuttle Discovery and the STS-119 crew remain grounded as NASA managers elected last night to delay launch to no earlier than Feb. 27 as testing of propulsion system valves continues.
Specialists at several different NASA centers have been running various tests on the valves, which control the flow of gaseous hydrogen from the three main engines to the massive external fuel tank. The valves maintain proper pressure in the tank as the massive power thrust into orbit rapidly burns the liquid fuel, enabling Tony and his crew to thunder through the atmosphere and into the micro-gravity of space. No small task.
While we are very much in favor of ensuring the crew's safety, we know these delays can be frustrating. Hang in there! We will continue to watch this issue closely and keep you posted as we hear official news of any changes. Isn't this exciting??!?

As hard as the delay is on all of us, I am sure that it is the most difficult for the astronauts and their wives/children.
We wait anxiously for the launch day and will keep our prayers going for a correct resolution to the valve problem and a safe launch, mission and return for the crew of STS119.
