Hotel, Anyone???

We've had several inquiries about where to stay in Florida ...

  • Do you know yet where you will be staying?

  • Do you have a great resource or helpful information to share?

  • Do you want to coordinate your accommodations with friends and family who are also attending the launch?

You can post it here!

We're told that there are still several great places with availability in and around Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral and even Titusville.

Many of our family and friends will be setting up camp at the Cocoa Beach Holiday Inn Express (www.hiexpress.com/es-cocoabeach.com), others at the Radisson Resort at the Port (www.radisson.com/capecanaveralfl.com) and still others at the Wakulla Suites (http://www.wakullasuites.com/). How about you?

We've also added a couple of links in the sidebar to the local Visitor Centers with helpful information about the area and more links to accommodations. We've been told that Vacation Rentals By Owner (http://www.vrbo.com/) is a good site for online bookings of private homes/condos. Do you know of any others?

We are booked at the Wakulla Suites Tuesday - Friday. I booked through hotel-guides.us.

I can't believe we get to do this (and that it is so soon)! Thanks for inviting us! We'll see you there!

The McLaughlins are staying in Orlando at the Marriott Grande Vista, arriving on the 6th for a little Disney before the big day. If anybody is going to do Disney the week prior, give us a call--703 625-2975.

Jen's uncle lives in Cocoa Beach, so we'll be spending the night of the 12th there in preparation for the early arrival on the 13th. Declan (5) got a spacesuit for Christmas and is READY TO GO!

Guido--it's gonna be EPIC!

See you soon!

The Schnabels are staying at Shades of Green. We arrive on the 11th and return to WA on the 15th. We are looking forward to seeing everyone and participating in this historic day.

The Kraus' are staying at a condo at the Ocean Landings Resort in Cocoa Beach, Tuesday-Saturday. Any other TPS 97B folks coming?

Also, Disney just started offering 5-day park hopper tickets free to active duty military and you can purchase more for family/guests at $99 each (+$25 for Park Hopper option + $25 for Fun Tickets). The Fun Tickets can be used for water parks, disney quest at downtown disney, as well as golf.

Bob, Mike is coming for sure. We are trying to figure out how many of us might go with him. We'd all love to go, but we aren't real sure about the wisdom in bringing a 6, 4 & 2 year old! Any idea what time we'd have to load the bus to get to the launch site?

the Taylors (Rich, Kristen and Andrew) are staying with the Spurts. Arrival Tuesday, 2/10 and leave 2/14 if shuttle launches on time. Will probably look for a hotel closer to KSC post launch so we don't wear out our welcome. Getting tickets for the bus ride.
